Wireframe view of the Model.
After establishing a main idea for the character after reading about the Guaraní mythology (see character description). I made a sketch in pencil on paper, later on colored using Photoshop CS4.
Maps Painted using Photoshop CS4. Normal map baked using xNormal.
A little background and the inspiration behind the character.

This was a personal project. I took the inspiration from the rich guarani tribes mythology from south america. After sketching and painting the concept in Photoshop, I used Maya 2010 to model a base mesh which ended up being around 14k tris. The high poly sculpting was done in Zbrush 4 using their amazing new "GoZ" feature. Normal maps were done using the nVidia's xNormal program and CrazyBump for additional detail like fur and fabric texture. Kostas Gialitakis' Koddeshader 2.0, a CGFX real-time shader for Maya was used for rendering.
